I started my photographic journey back in the early 1970’s. Where I learnt a lot about photography through trial and error. I eventually had my own dark room in the spare bedroom, where I used to produce black and white images.
There is nothing more satisfying than seeing your photographs materialise when they’ve gone through the development process. I had to give up my darkroom when my children were born.
In 2007 I decided to switch to digital. I was apprehensive at first but then accepted that it was the way forward and have used canon DSLR cameras since.
However, I still keep my canon film cameras I joined the Rhondda Camera Club in 2011, where I met people with similar interests.
Over the years I have had the pleasure of meeting photographers from all over the UK and beyond.
I have gained a lot more knowledge from our senior members in the use of photoshop.
I enjoy most aspects of photography but I do have a passion for aviation, wildlife and landscape photography.
Recently I gained my AWPF (Associate of the Welsh Photography Federation) and more recently received the Michael Krier’s Medal for a photograph which I took in New York’s Grand Central Terminal.
My role is the club’s secretary a role which I have held for a number of years and enjoy.
